Description of the institute
P5 is the leading institute in the Netherlands for social and economic research on agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, forestry and rural areas. P5ís focus at both national and international level is the increasing integration of agriculture and agribusiness with the social environment. The institute has 300 employees with a wide range of expertise, and is subdivided into three divisions: Public Issues (focusing on e.g. markets and trade flows), Animal (economic aspects of animal production) and Plant (economic aspects of plant production). Within the project, researchers from the first two groups are involved. Ir. P. van Horne, is a well-recognized economist with over 10 years of experience in economics of poultry production. Over the last years, he has been involved in advisory work on poultry production for both the EU, the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture and major stakeholders.
